The current bracket orders work for placing multiple stop/limits to get into the market but are not sufficient for market orders. Even so, having to set multiple orders and manage them increases risk management activities because you have to monitor each order for execution rather there should be multiple levels for both risk (stop loss) and take profit (limit order). Not sure if NT8 has multiple stop losses but Quantower does. Also, add auto-trailing like NT8 and break even like NT89. Each bracket should be configured by number of lots. Each stop loss and take profit level should support the number of lots for each order at each level.
Example: 7 lots MES,:
Bracket 1: 4 lots SL@5pts (20t) & 4 TP@10pts (40t)
Bracket 2: 2 lots SL@8pts (24r) & 2 TP@15pts (60t) with Auto-Break Even 10pts(40t - when Bracket 1 is in profit)
Bracket 3: 1 lots with Auto-Break Even 10pts(40t - when Bracket 1 is in profit - or maybe a few ticks) entry so you could do 12pts/40t so it’s in the money) - this is the runner.
Auto-Trail can begin immediately if configured in the above example or Break Even then Auto-Trail. Here is an example with Bracket 3.
Bracket 3 w/ BE and AT: 1 lots with Auto-Break Even 10pts(40t - when Bracket 1 is in profit - or maybe a few ticks) entry so you could do 12pts/40t so it’s in the money) with AutoTrail configured to move 1pt for every 4pts price moves up or it could be 2pts for every 4pts or 4pts for every 4 pts.
Of course allow for configuration by dollar, percentage, ticks, or points.
Add points and percentage alongside ticks and dollars. Points isn’t hard if you are already doing ticks.
Parabolic Trailing Stop
Considering something like NT8s Parabolic trailing stop but go for the goal and make it more advanced so people can adjust the parameters. NT8’s parabolic trailing stop is a DLL and not NinjaScript and I haven’t had time to decompile the DLL to see if I can figure out what it is doing but if you put PSAR on a chart the NT8 Parabolic trailing stop loss seems to follow it about 3 PSAR dots in arears of the current. It isn’t always accurate but that is how you would traditionally use PSAR to managing a manual trailing stop.
If you combine all of those features you very well may end up with the best Bracket Orders in the industry. Right now the bracket orders are basic.
Make it available across all of Project X.
