ASR Average Session Range and ADR, Prior settlement, IB Range, VAH, VAL, POC

These indicators are widely used on all platforms.

ASR Average Session Range needs to be able to be session selected for NY, Asia, London, etc. It needs to track up and down based on opening price of session and become fixed once range is hit. See usage in MT5 for features needed.

ADR Average Daily Range and ASR also need period settings for a range say 10 to 14, or 14 to 21, (can also be single range say 14 to 14) and displayed as possible shadow filled range for high and then also lows. Line type and color selectable.

IB Range needs to be default 1 hour based on contracts open and adjustable too.

Settlement needs to be drawn for X number of days back selectable. Default 1.

VAH, VAL Value Area High and Low calculated and levels drawn. Provide styles, colors and extention options too

All these need levels drawn with various options and selectable line styles, colors and shading if range.

Levels should have flexible option of extending forward on chart to x number of days.

Each of these indicators need to be automatically drawn on chart each day once applied with settings for that option as applicable.

These indicators should be broken out into their own indicator, not in one set.

TopStepX Comment – Indicator Justification (ADR / Average Daily Range)

The ADR (Average Daily Range) is a core volatility and structure tool, not a decorative overlay.

I use ADR on every futures instrument because it defines statistically expected price expansion for the session. Futures are volatility-driven; ignoring ADR is equivalent to trading without context for how far price normally moves.

    Technical justification:

    • Mean reversion & exhaustion: Price routinely reacts at ±ADR levels because they represent statistically stretched conditions relative to recent sessions.

    • Institutional behavior: Liquidity providers and larger participants manage risk around expected daily range; expansions beyond ADR often slow, stall, or reverse.

    • Objective targets & risk control: ADR provides non-arbitrary profit targets and invalidation zones, improving R:R consistency and preventing over-trading.

    • Confluence: ADR levels frequently align with VWAP bands, prior session highs/lows, and market profile extremes—when they overlap, reactions are stronger.

    • Session awareness: ADR adapts to changing volatility regimes (news, overnight vs RTH), unlike fixed tick or point targets.

    Observed behavior (see chart):
Price tagged the lower ADR band and reacted immediately, producing a clean bounce—this is repeatable, observable behavior across NQ, ES, CL, GC, etc. I rely on this to frame trades, not to predict direction but to define where continuation vs reaction is statistically likely.

Since TopStepX already uses a TradingView-based platform, excluding ADR removes a foundational volatility metric that is widely used, transparent, and non-predictive. This indicator improves discipline, reduces discretionary bias, and aligns execution with real market structure.

In short: ADR is critical for professional futures execution.
It’s not optional for me—it’s structural.

I use the default technical Average Daily Range in Tradingview exclusively for my trades and would love to see in Topstep X, anyway to use the same one from TradingView?

Coach Ray uses this indicator. It would also be helpful if ADR could be broken out by Asian, London, and NYC. At the very least Globex and RTH.
