Please allow risk lock settings to remain locked when using trade copier.

I personally really liked topstep for its risk features. Being able to lock my risk settings for the day at the end of day when my mind is clear and free of emotions has been a total game changer for me. Knowing that there is no way of doing significant damage to my account no matter how frustrated or tilted i get has allowed me to trade with consistency and I am very grateful for these features. However upon finding out that I can bypass these restrictions by simply toggling trade copier on and off on my account has made me feel uneasy. I know that if shit hits the fan there is a .001% chance that I will manually bypass these rules and do some serious damage. I wish I have the confidence to say this will never happen but I know what ive done in the past and I know I am capable of doing it again when my emotions pass a certain threshold. In my opinion there is no point of risk lock settings if you are able to disable it whenever you'd like.

My request is to keep the risk settings locked even while using trade copier or make trade copier impossible to use for accounts with risk settings that are already locked ( similar to how trade copier doesnt allow locked accounts to use trade copier.) Thank you!

    LOCK TRADE COPIER

Need the ability to lock the trade copier.

If you lockdown your trading for the day, only the master account is locked. It’s very easy, especially if you’re on tilt, to clear the trade copier and continue to trade the other accounts.

Locking the trade copier for the day or week, would be ideal.

THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER POSTS LIKE THAT HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY MARKED AS “ALREADY PRESENT”…. THIS AND IS NOT A CURRENT FEATURE.

Trade Copier Overrides Risk Settings / Includes Practice & Locked Accounts

I ran into what appears to be a serious issue while setting up the Trade Copier for the first time.

I accidentally selected my Practice Account as part of the copier (Master), and it appeared to override the risk rules I had already set on my Trading Combine accounts (Follower). I also noticed trades being placed on accounts that were already locked out.

In my opinion, risk settings should never be overridden by the Trade Copier or by any other platform feature. If an account has reached a hard risk limit or has been locked out, the copier should not be able to place additional trades on that account.

I also do not think Practice Accounts should appear as an option in the Trade Copier at all, since they can easily be selected accidentally alongside live/Combine accounts.

I mentioned this issue on Twitter as well, and Topstep Support reached out to me regarding it.

I would really appreciate it if the team could investigate this, as risk settings should always take priority over copy trading.

    IMPROVING TRADE COPIER

Have trade copier be able to copy across other ProjectX accounts from other prop firms. For example allow us to copy trade within our accounts of Alpha Futures, Top Step and Tick Tick.

      for example

      1. Copy Trading Risk Ratio Customization

      • Problem: Right now it’s impossible to copy trade efficiently across accounts of different sizes (for example, a $50K and a $150K account). Both accounts receive the same contract size, which breaks risk management since the accounts need different exposures.

      • Proposed Solution: Add a feature to customize contract size ratios for each account when copy trading.

        • Example: If I enter 2 contracts on my $150K account, I could set the system to automatically enter 1 contract on my $50K account.

        • Alternatively, allow a dollar-based ratio setting, so I can risk the same percentage of each account regardless of balance.

      • Benefit: This keeps risk management consistent and makes copy trading across multiple account sizes actually usable.

RISK FEATURES UNDO WHEN YOU COPY TRADE

Recently I have noticed that i add risk settings to each of my accounts, specifically pdll “liquidate and block” settings and then l lock the risk settings, then add them to the trade copier and only the leader account has liquidate and block on. All the follower accounts get moved to “Do nothing” automatically after I set them to “Liquidate and block” once added to the trade copier. This is happening across all prop firms using ProjectX right now. Hopefully this can get fixed, thanks!

Yeah I don’t see the value of risk lock feature if it can be disabled in the heat of the moment. The whole point is to protect us from exactly that kind of emotional decision making. I think maybe too many people were succeeding with the feature and topstep needed to find a reason to disable it.
